Canyon Lake's people are what make this place "a little bit of paradise". There is a feeling of safety and security when neighbors wave or smile at you while you drive by. The "cozy" little town feeling is felt when you visit the Towne Center located just outside the main gate; where many local businesses can be found such as the Canyon Lake Market, Amato's Italian Restaurant, Rock It Tacos and various retail shops. The Canyon Lake Property Homeowners Association offices make the Towne Center their home as well as the local Post Office Stop.

Community clubs and Associations are offered for Canyon Lake residents to join. There are clubs such as the Wakeboard Club, Pinochle Club, Men's and Women's Golf Club, Yacht Club, Tennis Club, Ski Club, Equestrian Club, Garden Club, Hydrofoil Club, Home Owner's Club, Lions Club and more. Associations include the Boys and Girl Scouts of America, Art Association, Fine Arts Guild, Community Theatre and Performing Arts Association, Roadrunners, Men's Softball Association and more. Each made up of Canyon Lake Residents who enjoy their neighbors and their community so much they gather together for activities they have in common.

The Property Owners Association (POA) offers activities for all Canyon Lakers through the Recreation Department - from Snow Days to Taco Tuesdays to classes such as swimming, yoga, art and even golf for tots! The POA also sponsors many other events throughout the year and also operates a Youth and Senior Center.
